Light as art, Designers in the spotlight !

Born to a French mother of Vietnamese–German origin and a Lebanese father, Mélanie Torbey is an interior architect who graduated from the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA) in Beirut. She quickly specialized in the field of lighting design, refining her skills at the AFE (Association Française de l’Eclairage), in Paris.  Having worked in the field since 2012 and lived on several continents, she decided to create her own e-gallery to unite her two passions: light and design.

In her selections, Mélanie presents lighting artists who create exclusive, distinctive, and unique lighting pieces—designers for whom she has a genuine coup de cœur. Her aim is to highlight and support independent artisans, both small and established, who are often less known to the general public but exceptionally talented, allowing them to showcase and sell their artworks, while giving them greater visibility.

The pieces she presents are frequently handmade in small ateliers discovered across the globe and produced in very limited series. An international selection ranging from contemporary to traditional creations, where each piece and each brand is chosen for its character, its signature, its identity, and its own story.
